Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure | September 2018
Brown Automotive Group and William Schuiling sponsored the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Washington D.C. on Saturday September 8, 2018. The race featured pink-clad participants and brought people from across the nation together on Freedom Plaza to raise close to $600,000 for breast cancer research!

About 1 in 8 women in the United States (12.4%) will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. A man's lifetime risk of breast cancer is about 1 in 1,000. Deaths for women in the U.S. due to breast cancer are higher than those for any other cancer, besides lung cancer. Given that this disease is so prevalent in our country, finding a cure is imperative.

Fundraising through the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure helps support research, care, and community initiatives. Support for breast cancer research provides better detection, prevention and treatment for all types of breast cancers. Fundraising also delivers additional access to innovative clinical trials and low to no-cost screening, diagnosis and treatment.

Through advocacy in the community, Susan G. Komen is able to provide access to affordable yet premium breast cancer treatment and overall breast health services. Brown's Car Stores and William Schuiling are proud to sponsor such a wonderful organization as Susan G. Komen and be part of the efforts to find cure!

Brown's Honda City is Committed to Community Involvement Around Baltimore and Maryland

While we're of course dedicated to finding great deals for car shoppers from all over the Baltimore area and throughout Maryland here at our Glen Burnie Honda dealership. But thanks to the leadership of the Brown's Auto family owner, William E. Schuiling, we're also dedicated to community involvement, donating to and supporting important causes around Annapolis, Laurel, Ellicott City and beyond. Learn more about what kinds of efforts are important to us, then come on over today and we'll show you how you can also get involved in your community.

From Toys for Tots to causes involving our veterans, we're happy to be a part of the most charitable and dedicated public service in the area. We even regularly pair up with the Baltimore Ravens during the holiday season to make sure needy children have something to be happy about during the winter. Why do we spend so much energy and time on community involvement? It all begins with our owner, William E. Schuiling, who's spent his career learning from recent U.S. Presidents what it means to really give back.

Selling amazing new Honda cars, trucks and SUVs to Maryland drivers here in the Baltimore area helps the community in one sense. These are safe, smart and efficient vehicles, perfect for driving throughout the state or near D.C. But we also know there's a lot going on in the community, so we make sure to stay involved with causes that help the needy during the holidays and with organizations that support veterans, a hugely important issue for Schuiling. When you shop here in Glen Burnie, you'll quickly realize we're about much more than selling new Honda cars.
