Brown Automotive Group and William Schuiling sponsored the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Washington D.C. on Saturday September 8, 2018. The race featured pink-clad participants and brought people from across the nation together on Freedom Plaza to raise close to $600,000 for breast cancer research!

About 1 in 8 women in the United States (12.4%) will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. A man's lifetime risk of breast cancer is about 1 in 1,000. Deaths for women in the U.S. due to breast cancer are higher than those for any other cancer, besides lung cancer. Given that this disease is so prevalent in our country, finding a cure is imperative. Fundraising through the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure helps support research, care, and community initiatives. Support for breast cancer research provides better detection, prevention and treatment for all types of breast cancers.

Fundraising also delivers additional access to innovative clinical trials and low to no-cost screening, diagnosis and treatment. Through advocacy in the community, Susan G. Komen is able to provide access to affordable yet premium breast cancer treatment and overall breast health services.

?Brown's Car Stores and William Schuiling are proud to sponsor such a wonderful organization as Susan G. Komen and be part of the efforts to find cure!
